To my husband

I really wanted to write a sweet anniversary post yesterday, but life got in the way, so I am late. I don't think Chris actually reads this blog o' mine, but just in case I wanted to write something just for him. I am going to warn you that this might get a little sappy, so it is not for the feint of heart. :)

Dear Sweetie,

You have been my sweetie for sixteen years now, and for fifteen of those years we have been married. It is amazing to me that time has gone by so fast. It seems like just yesterday we went on our first date. Then a few months later you took me back to that Olive Garden, got down on one knee, pulled a ring out of your pocket, and asked me to be your wife. We were so young, and everyone thought we were nuts. We weren't even twenty-one yet. But, yet, here we are still together after all these years.

There are so many things I want to say to you that I don't really know where to begin. You have been my constant companion for the last sixteen years. You have seen the best of me and the worst of me. More nights than not you have gone to sleep right next to me. We have laughed and cried together. You have always been there to catch me when I fell.

I love watching you with our children. You love them more than I ever thought possible. I see your love every time you are around them. You are their father, and you are their daddy. It takes a wonderful man to be both things to your children. I am constantly amazed at how much you love them.

You work so hard for all of us. We are so proud of the man that you have become. I have been here to watch you grow up and become the man that you were meant to be, and I love and respect that man.

In the last fifteen years we have seen good times and bad times. The storms of life have come and knocked us around pretty good, but through it all I have known that you love me. That love has made the wife, mother, and friend that I am today. Thank you so much for loving me!

I look forward to the adventures of life during the next fifteen years!
Love,
Me
